Further enhancing the industry's leading distributed in-memory data grid solution, Oracle announced the release of Oracle® Coherence 3.5.
A component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Coherence 3.5 now provides tera-scale support to in-memory data grids through configurable off-heap storage.
This new version introduces Coherence Guardian, a safeguard that automatically detects and corrects service disruptions.
Oracle Coherence 3.5 provides native integration with Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle WebLogic Portal, dramatically boosting the performance and scalability of applications deployed on these products.
In addition, Oracle Coherence 3.5 also includes a significant performance boost in the Coherence*Web session management module.
These new capabilities help organizations improve their online customer experience, simplify the management of large web deployments, and differentiate their Web presence for competitive advantage.
Expanding the Performance and Capacity of the Industry-Leading Data Grid
Oracle Coherence now supports multi-terabyte data grids and significantly reduces the number of Java Virtual Machines (JVM) required to support large datasets, reducing operation complexity for large deployments.
Oracle Coherence advances continuous availability with the introduction of Coherence Guardian and new network dynamic configurability for capacity-on-demand cloud environments.
Oracle Coherence now includes native integration of Oracle Coherence*Web Session Management Module for Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle WebLogic Portal, enabling distributed HTTP session management across multiple applications and heterogeneous environments while also allowing more data to be stored within sessions.
Native integration of Oracle Coherence as a distributed cache for Oracle WebLogic Portal dramatically increases the performance of large-scale portal applications by caching user profiles, content, and customer portlets in Oracle Coherence.
Oracle Coherence*Web provides dramatic performance improvement, particularly for deployments that utilize large sessions and aggressive session expiry. In addition Coherence*Web includes a new optimistic session locking model that significantly increases throughput of web applications. Coherence*Web also includes new support for Coherence*Extend deployments, which isolates an application server tier from the session management tier, and results in improved availability for the system as a whole.
