Earlier this week Oracle announced its intention to acquire "certain assets" of HyperRoll, an Israeli provider of financial query and reporting acceleration software. HyperRoll's technology will add depth to Oracle's enterprise performance management (EPM) and business intelligence (BI) suites. It will add a new accelerated realtime dimension to relational and OLAP queries to expedite financial reporting, fill in some legacy functional gaps in its financial consolidation products and provide new opportunities to improve data warehousing performance on Oracle's own database platform.
